In 1970, my school life was failing apart and was going nowhere. My father, who was a school Teacher took me, on a geography field trip with his school. We went up to North Wales. Here, I was introduced to, the mountains of Snowdonia. In addition to this fantastic landscape was the amazing giant adventure playgrounds of the Slate mining industry. This trip was life changing in more ways than one..................
“No sound of machines the silence overwhelms as the wind whistles between the loose stones”.
